  • If it is not possible for the child to stay at home an work then the employer must provide accommodation that is clean, comfortable, suitable and safe for the child.
  • The employer cannot charge or the accommodation that is provided.
  • The accommodation provided must not be occupied by any other adult except for the child’s parents or legal guardians.
  • The accommodation must have sufficient bedding, toilet and washing facilities.

    How will the children travel to work?

  • The employer must provide for safe and reliable transport or the child employee between his/ her home or accommodation and the workplace.
  • This transport facility must be provided whenever the child needs to travel – including when doing night work – and also at the beginning and end of each work day.
  • The employer must ensure that transport to the child’s home or accommodation is provided without delay at the end of a performance.

    Can children work alone?

  • Parents or legal guardians need to be close at hand whilst working on film, television or advertising products.
  • Children would feel more comfortable if parents or legal guardians accompany them to wardrobe, makeup, hairdressing and room facilities.
