  • A child aged 10 years and younger is expected to work a maximum of three hours a day; whilst a child aged 10 years and older can only work up to four hours a day.
  • An employer cannot make a child work for more that the hours allowed.
  • On any day a child employee aged ten and over can be present at the workplace for ten hours only.
  • Children over five years can only be at the workplace for eight hours in the total per day.
  • Those children who are under five years of age can only be present at the workplace no longer than six hours on any given day.
  • An employer cannot force a child to work if he/she is not ready or fit to work.
